were bred by King George II of England in 1735 to be used for coach
horses and for some agricultural uses. They reach about 16 hands high
and are commonly black, gray, chestnut, brown or bay. Hanoverians have
very elegant, strong bodies and have competed in many world-renowned
competitions, including the Olympic Games.
